If you are having trouble downloading any Forza titles from the Microsoft Store, there are a few things you can try.
If you are experiencing an infinite download on the Microsoft store, please make sure you've downloaded the most recent Windows Update.
Hard drive space
Make sure there is enough space on your hard drive to install the game. For example, Forza Horizon 5 requires 100+ GB of space to install.

Reset the Microsoft Store
You can use the steps below to refresh the Microsoft Store to clear the cache and refresh your library permissions.
- Close the Windows Store app if you have it open.
- Click Start and type 'WSRESET' without the quotes.
- Right-click on the command and click 'Run as Administrator.' Click 'Yes' or 'Run' if the Windows permission box appears.
- A black MS-Dos screen will appear for a few seconds. Please wait for it to disappear, and the Store will automatically open.
- Attempt to Install the Forza title.
Check for Updates to Windows

- Verify that your windows version is up to date. If you are using an older version of Windows DLC may not work properly or at all.
- Get the latest Windows update
- Once you've updated, perform a complete shutdown and restart your machine.
Make sure the Time/Date on Your PC is Correct
If your PC's clock is out of sync with the rest of the world, it can cause an error. The best thing is to right-click the Clock on your Desktop and select 'Adjust date/time.' A new screen will appear with the option to set the time and time zones automatically. It's best to turn them both on and restart your machine if needed.
Delete Local Cache
- Download the game and wait for it to error.

- Delete all the files in the local cache folder

- Replace USER_NAME with your local PC Username when searching

- Reboot your PC.
- Attempt the download once more.
Restart the Microsoft Store Installer
- Bring up the Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE)
- Select the Services Tab.
- Find the Microsoft Store Installer.
- Right-click it and select Restart.
- Notification will appear to state that the Forza title is ready to play.
Windows Store apps troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Jump to the right side and click Additional troubleshooters.
- On the upcoming screen, select Windows Store apps
- Select Run the troubleshooter.
- Store Apps Troubleshooter
- The troubleshooter will immediately start looking for the underlying issues. If it provides any fix, hit Apply this fix button.
- After applying the fix, restart your PC.
Use Powershell to register windows store
- Open PowerShell as Administrator
- Copy and past the following command
- Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}
- Wait for command to complete
- Close PowerShell
- Restart your PC

- Advanced options

Select "Percentage of Measured bandwidth (measured against the update source)"

Set "Limit how much bandwidth is used for downloading updates in the background" to 100%

- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
- Search for [game name], click … > Advanced Options
- Game name would be Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 etc,
- Click Repair
- Then go back to the Xbox App, and resume the install for Forza Motorsport

Set OS drive as install location
Make sure your games are set to install to your main drive or C drive. Sometimes using a secondary drive can cause installation conflicts.
- Launch “Settings” with “Win + I”
- Click “System” on the sidebar.
- Go to the “Storage” page.
- Click on the “Where new content is saved” option.
- Select the drive of your choice from the “New apps will save to” dropdown.
- Press the “Apply” button.
- Settings are saved automatically.
- Close the Settings app.
- With that, you changed where new apps are installed in Windows 11.
