You see the following error code when you try to download and install a game or an app through Xbox Live to your Xbox One console:
87E0000F
This error may mean one of the following:
- The Xbox One console doesn't have the latest update.
- The Xbox Live Service is temporarily unavailable.
- The console is having trouble connecting to Xbox Live.
- The game or app download may need to be canceled and then downloaded again.
Solutions
Solution 1: Check for a system update
If you're having problems when trying to download an Xbox One game or app, you may need to update your console. If you want to connect to Xbox Live, you must have the latest console software. New games might also require the update before you can play them.
To see if there's a system update available, follow these steps:
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Settings, and then select All Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Console info & updates.
If there's an update available, it'll be listed at the bottom of the first column. If not, you'll see "No update available."

Solution 2: Check the Xbox Live service status
If you see any alerts here, wait until the service is up and running and try again:

Solution 3: Test your Xbox Live connection
If you've previously been able to connect to Xbox Live using your current console and network setup, but you can't connect now, try the testing your Xbox Live connection.
If you're unable to connect to Xbox Live, the first step is to run the network connection test on your Xbox One console to see what's causing the problem. Here's how:
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Settings.
- Select All settings.
- Select Network.
- On the right side of the Network Settings screen, select Test network connection.
If you can't connect to Xbox Live, the test will show you where in the connection process the error occurs. It'll also tell you what type of error it is. Make a note of this information, and then go to the Xbox One Network Connection Error Solution to resolve the problem.
Solution 4: Cancel and redownload the app or game
Step 1: Cancel the download
It's easy to cancel your current download. Here's how:
- To return to the Home screen, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select Home.
- On Home, move right and select My games & apps. Select Queue.
- Highlight the active download or installation.
Note Active downloads appear with a progress bar along the bottom of the game or app's tile. - Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller.
- Select Cancel.
Step 2: Redownload your game or app
To download the game or app again, search for the title in Microsoft Store on Xbox One, select it, and then select Install. You can also redownload your content by scrolling right within My games and apps to the Ready to install section.
